Information Technology (IT)
is the use of computers and software to manage information.
Some organizations refer to this as Management Information
Services (or MIS) or simply as Information Services (or
IS). The information technology function of an
organization is responsible for storing, protecting,
processing, and transmitting the information, and later
retrieving information as necessary.
ISO/IEC
20000 is the first international standard for Information
Technology (IT) Service Management. It is based on and
supersedes the British Standard, BS 15000. The standard
was first published in December 2005.
